Government Contractor Requirements

Employers that contract with federal or state governments must comply with a number of special employment laws.

Government contractors may be required to comply with federal affirmative action requirements administered by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCCP), depending on the size of the contract and of the contractor.

They may also be subject to other OFCCP requirements and audits and to the Drug Free Workplace Act.

Government contractors may be subject to federal and/or state prevailing wage laws, establishing minimum wage and benefit levels.
